An American Icon

Gibson guitars are an American icon with a playability unmatched by other brands. The Les Paul was first introduced in 1952 and  more than five decades later, this all-time favorite solid body electric guitar continues to influence guitarists, musicians and music lovers all over the world. The Gibson Les Paul has changed little since its introduction.     Les Paul, considered one of the finest jazz guitarists, is famous for his amazing versatility. Dissatisfied with the sound of available instruments, Paul invented a solid-body electric guitar. Marketed in 1951 by Gibson, it was extremely important in the development of rock music and was played by many of its greatest stars. This fine musical instrument is still paving a path for innovation in music.
